Frequently Asked Questions
1. I’m hesitant about seeing a chiropractor because I don’t want my neck cracked or popped. Is that part of your care?
No. I use a gentle, light-force impulse technique that does not require cracking, twisting, or end-range joint popping.
Adjustments are performed in neutral positions with precision rather than force. This approach is commonly chosen by people who want effective care without the inflammation or soreness that can follow more aggressive techniques.
This style of care is appropriate for a wide range of patients, including children, older adults, and people with sensitive joints or prior injuries.
2. Do I need to sign a contract or prepay for a treatment plan?
No. There are no contracts, prepaid plans, or long-term commitments.
Care is provided one visit at a time, based on how your body responds. My goal is fewer visits overall, not ongoing dependency. Most people can tell after the first visit whether this approach is a good fit.
3. How many visits do most people need?
Many patients experience meaningful change within the first 1 to 3 visits.
If progress is not clear after that point, we reassess. I am straightforward about whether I believe chiropractic care is likely to help you, and I do not continue care without clear benefit.
4. Are X-rays required before treatment?
No. X-rays are not routinely required.
I rely on a detailed physical assessment to determine where treatment is appropriate. Imaging is only recommended if there is concern for fracture, serious pathology, or a condition that requires further evaluation. If imaging is needed, I will refer you to an appropriate facility.
5. Why do your adjustments tend to hold longer?
This approach focuses on precision rather than force.
Adjustments are based on detailed analysis of joint position, movement, and neurological response. Because the work is done in neutral positions and does not push joints to end range, the body is less likely to become inflamed or guarded afterward.
The goal is to help the body accept and maintain change, which often means longer-lasting results and fewer visits.
6. Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider.
If your insurance plan includes chiropractic benefits, I can provide a superbill with appropriate billing codes for you to submit for possible reimbursement. Many patients also use HSA or FSA funds for care.
Because visits are typically less frequent, many people find this approach cost-effective regardless of insurance coverage.
7. How often will I need maintenance or follow-up care?
That depends on your history and goals.
Some patients choose periodic check-ins, such as once or twice a year. Others with significant past injuries or ongoing physical stress may benefit from more regular visits. There is no required maintenance schedule.
Recommendations are made based on need, not a preset plan.
8. What if I don’t feel better after treatment?
If you do not experience noticeable improvement within the first few visits, we will discuss that directly.
If I do not believe chiropractic care is the right tool for your situation, I will say so and help guide you toward other options or referrals when appropriate. The goal is results, not prolonged care.
9. What conditions do you commonly see?
People often come in for neck pain, back pain, headaches, joint pain, old injuries that never fully resolved, or a general sense that their body is not moving or recovering the way it should.
Care is always individualized. If your concern falls outside what I believe I can help with, I will let you know.
10. Are you leaving Salt Lake City now that you also have a Richfield office?
No. I am not leaving Salt Lake City.
I value the community, professional network, and long-standing patient relationships I’ve built in Salt Lake over many years, and I plan to continue practicing there. The Richfield office allows me to serve patients in Central Utah and the Sevier Valley who would otherwise need to travel long distances for care.
Both locations offer the same approach and style of care. Patients are welcome to schedule at whichever location works best for them.
